Actually, using Henry Ford as an example doesn't really do your argument any good. Ford was the first employer to install very dangerous assembly lines. He had to pay more just to get people to work at his factories. I don't recall his cutting hours, but if he did so, it was because the use of the assembly line made workers get more done in a shorter period of time. I believe that's what made the job dangerous.

P.S. I do agree that employers need to pay their workers more. Many times they claim that they don't have enough money to raise wages, but then you see those lists of CEO salaries and you realize that while workers are making less or the same, the higher-ups are raking in the dough. Not fair!
