: I have recently taken my first waitressing job at 26 years of age. I have a college degree and have just started my own business, but needed part-time work to supplement my income. I understand now how hard waitresses work and how cheap and thankless customers can be! Especially the after church lunch crowd. Has anyone else noticed that they seem to be the rudies and cheapest, or is it just the area where I live?

: P.S. Hang in there girls, although it is hard work, the money isn't too bad. I acutally make more doing this than I ever did using my degree!

You are right. In TN, our lunch crowd is the worst after church breaks up. What I mean is, I think all the churchgoers come into the family restaurant that I work at as a hostess, and you'd think they would be the nicest people. Most churchgoers are. But I digress. They're rude when it comes to their food. I go to church when I can and it has never affected the way I treat anyone who takes care of me in a business! I can't wait to graduate from college so I can do ANYTHING else but wait tables or hostess. Sometimes the customers don't want to upset the waitress, so they take their anger out on the hostess or the cashier. I'm telling you what, people are happy with their dinner until they get up to the cashier. All of a sudden, they hated the whole meal. But they've eaten everything on their plates.......
This is to all the church members who go out to eat frequently......set a good example of your religion to the public, not a poor one. Remember why you go to church! Don't come into a restaurant in a big obnoxious crowd of 10 or 20 and crack loud jokes!
