you just finished saying that waitressing is the best amount of money, for the least amount of time, and then you complain that people are not leaving enough of a tip. A $3 is not good enough for you. How many tables do you wait in an hour? Even if you only wait five tables an hour, at $3 a table, that is still $15 an hour.. Have you looked at the bill that these people just finished paying for the food they ate? Maybe the cannot afford to leave more than a $3 tip. As a person with children to look after, the occational trip to a resturant is a treat, and I cannot manage to leave much as a tip, I leave what I can, and accord to the serice I recieve and how friendly my server is. If you are not getting paid enough, maybe that is something you should take up with your employer, or your government who allows people to be employed for substandard wages. Pretty much everyone out there is just struggling to get by. I have worked as a waitress in the past, the tips were always good, and over the course of my shift added up fast. My frustration was with customers who would come in when it was busy and not be able to make up their minds, but want you at their table to walk them through the choices... please... Or people who seemed to want to leave the biggest mess they could while they were there. Where I worked, the waiting staff had to hostess, serve, buss, clean the bathrooms and help out in the kitchen... Anyway..it is all just food for thought.
