Well, I'm no lawyer, but it seems that employers these days are pretty shy about divulging information on former employees. I think they mainly stick to name, amount of time at the workplace, and job description. My assumption is that a few of them have been sued for defamation. I'd guess that since you signed a resignation form, your former employer isn't going to contradict that publicly. Just a guess, but it seems reasonable.
