I don't think it's a matter of fighting back, because the boss has set himself up: by spying on employees he has created a counter-productive, unhappy environment which is not going to make him a profit in the longrun. The good people will leave, the others will stay, be unhappy, find passive-aggressive ways to hurt the business even more than the boss has. Downward spiral.
