Worders Comp. verys from state to state. You have state statutes that provide the written law. Interpitation of those laws change with court cases. It is very likely your employer can cancel your benifits. In the state of Florida where I live the employer can lay you off. Only if the employee can prove he/she was laid off for having filed a claim is there any protection. I am not an attorny. I have had to learn to protect myshelf because of a bad back. I am union, and have a good contact. But rights are use-less if you don't enforce them. However, choose your battles. you can win the fight and loose the war.
Start with your State Statutes. Any large library, or in the state of Fl. they are online at the state web site. good-luck, Jim
