What about salary? If a potential employee wants to know your salary history and you want to punch it up a bit (okay, lie), is that something they can check?

: Legally, the only thing they can say is your start date, end date, what your title was while you were employed there and that's it.

: If they give you a bad reference you can sue them for blackballing you. Hope this helps.
