I was a clerk at a record store, and when the assistant manager position opened up, I asked for the job. My boss sort of grumbled and avoided the issue and didn't hire me. So I went to the manager of another of our stores in the city and talked to her...She put in a good word about me to our regional manager, who then suggested me for a job at a different store. I'm now assistant manager and working with a better crew of people. Don't let your boss keep you down! Follow Ups
