I work in an aluminum foundry where everyone in my shop is assigned one day to work over in the case that the next shift if short handed. They tell us to not make any plans for that day because if we don't stay over we will be written up. Now get this, on other days if the next shift is way short handed, and the two people assigned to that day are not enough, they draw names and try to make us stay four more hours. If we refuse, they tell us again we will be written up or fired. The gall of these people. Is this legal??? If anyone knows, please respond immediately. Thank you!
