: : Marian,
: : All of us have known how hard waitressing is, has been, and will be. Due to the nature of the work, the abuse, long hours, sometimes thankless efforts, it is considered to be a low end job and treated that way. I have met many people who wanted to pickup part time work, performed the waitressing jobs. We, as a country eat out at restaurants more than anyone else in the world, but the servers are treated ugly. I wonder if all the waitresses went on strike, what the people would do...cater the food? ha! dont think so for very long! Thanks for your help Marian.

: : : I know my sister waitresses have stories to tell, angst to vent---How is it this is practically the only "profession" that is not addressed on this site? I am looking for anecdotes, experiences, gripes, etc to compose a "tell-all" Anyone?

: am writing an aarticle on how to survuve being a student supporting yourself on waitressing. would appreciate any tips, tales and any other info.

The hostess job is to seat the customer in sections, this assures the fastest service as well as to not over seat a waitress with more customers than she can handle. All to often these "self seaters" don't understand that the customers are taken in the order that they sat. They then become irate because they ha... (truncated)
