: WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT EMPLOYMENT?

I was incarceated two years ago for theft, classified as larceny. I admitted to the crime and as a result it was reduced to a misdemeanor and I given a fine of $1000 and spent 3 weeks in jail. However, after the incident I was able to find employment because luckily for me the job that I applied for didn't do background checks. Unfortunately, Now I find myself in the same situation because I got laid off and have been looking for employment ever since, (8 months). The search is terribly discouraging because everytime I'm being considered as a candidate for a position, I'm rejected because of my past criminal history. I truly do feel like I'll be paying for this crime for all my life. I have learned from it and would sincerely like to get my life going but my attempts are of no avail. Please help me find employment, possibly as an administrative assistant. It would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
