I have been working for a four star hotel for 6 years now. Firstly full time doing split shifts and very long hours and presently partime, as i have two kids, working in the banquenting department serving weddings and private dinners and then covering the bar until the end of the night. I would agree with the comment about smiling etc. All a good waitress needs is: A bottle opener/corkscrew, pen, and a good sense of humor. A good sense of humor can prevent you from going mad, and can usually deal with the most impossible of customers, even when you have to explain to them that their wedding cake has just fallen over!!
