Why wouldn't they give it to you? Because they don't want to pay you more money? I think you should sit down with your boss and explain that if they want to keep you in the company, they have to allow you to grow and advance. Hell, they promoted you once, why not again?

: I think the receptionist's job is the one that is most overlook in a company. You have to be knowlegable in all areas of your company. Questions arise everyday that you have to answer. Most of the time we are chained to our desk and under a microscope.Being watch and criticized. I work for a large company and I got myself promoted to thier Event Coordinator. I plan the events in the office so I'm not trapped at my desk all the time. There is a new position up for grabs but, I don't think they will give it to me. I'm qualified for the job but because I have been with company for over eight years they want to keep at the same place and salery.
