All day long, I compete with people who "think" they know it all. But they don't know jack crap. I get so tired of being told I am a subject matter expert in my field, but being paid less than everyone else on my team. My boss doesn't follow through, my team members (most) cannot do the job on their own without assistance. I have been interviewing internally and I find it hard to understand where someone who is valued in a group could be treated so badly like myself. I guess one thing that I could recommend; never give 200% because they'll never recognize you they'll come to expect it daily.
