Mandatory 12 hr. shifts Posted by: Bev Boomershine on October 25, 1998 at 16:57:11: Not long ago I called the labor dept. about how many days in a row you could be forced to work 12 hr. shifts. They said,"everyday of the year as long as you're getting overtime pay." We need to elect some politicians that will fight for better legislation on this matter. I am a member of a labor union. When contract time comes around, the International Reps. should let their members have more of a voice. People make good proposals that never get entered at the bargaining table. Furthermore, we are not in the 60' or 70's, and some of our language is way out of date. Does anyone feel like I do ? Follow Ups
